Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope everyone has a chance to spend it with their loved ones. I am always thankful for my husband and beautiful son and my family. I'm thankful that I have a stable job in this tough economy and that my husband was able to realize his dream and open his own business. I am thankful for my health. And most importantly I am thankful to wake up each morning and start a new day.
Eat lots of turkey and dressing and enjoy the time you spend with your family.

NaNoWriMo - I Surrender!
Please read my post here regarding my failed attempt at writing a novel. I'm so disappointed in myself. But don't fret. There's always next year!

End of Season Soccer Party
Monday night Darrius' soccer team - The Assassins - had their End of the Season soccer party. The party was held at Fuddrucker's, the boys favorite spot. Personally, I wish they'd find a new restaurant. But I guess it's not about what the parents want. As long as the kids are happy, that's all that matters. Coach Rick handed out the trophies. The trophies were personalized with each player's name. As Coach Rick grabbed a trophy out of the box, we would give a description of the player who the trophy was for and the boys had to guess who it was. Darrius was the last player to receive his trophy. This was D's exact words: "Coach is saving the best for last." LOL!
The Assassins finished the season 6-0-2. The scored 41 goals and only allowed 7. They had 5 shut outs. It was a spectacular season. They were the division champs! Woo-hoo! It was worth the many Saturdays spent sitting in the drizzle/rain during the games.
Yet another trophy to add to the collection.

p.s. I need to update the date on my camera.

Complete Wash
This week I didn't workout not one day. This week was a complete wash and surprisingly I'm okay with that. I decided not to beat myself over it. What is that going to accomplish? I thought about getting in at least one workout just to say I worked out this week but then I figured I might as well go all in. No workouts at all this week. So I will be headed back to the gym on Sunday.
What I'm not okay with is the Halloween Candy Gorge-fest that I've been having this week. After trick-or-treating on Saturday, D dumped both of his bags to sort through his stash. He weeded out the candy that he didn't want and named it "Mom and Dad's pile." Well that pile consisted of what seemed to be a never-ending supply of miniature Snickers candy bars. I'm not a huge fan of chocolate; I can take it or leave it. I mostly leave it. But I love me some Snickers. And D had a nice size pile. I knew I was doomed. I told myself that just because the candy was there, it didn't mean I had to eat it, right? Well tell that to my sweet tooth. My sweet tooth had all the power. And to make things worse the bag of Snickers was sitting on the kitchen counter. How can I avoid that?? Impossible! So everyday I would get a Snickers - before dinner, while I'm cooking, after dinner and before bed. Terrible! Luckily hubby has been eating them also, so as of today, they are finally gone. (And I'm a little pissed).
Sunday is the start of a new week and my return to the gym.
I plan on enjoying the weekend like how I've been enjoying the week. Eating whatever I want (within reason) and having ding-dang good old time.
Happy Friday y'all!!

New Blog
Hello there! Because of my overwhelming need to be organized and avoid clutter, I've started a 3rd blog dedicated to my reading and writing experiences. Here's the link. http://lovetoreadforfun.blogspot.com/. I've migrated some of my older posts to the new blog. Ch-ch-check it out.
Halloween
Sorry to be posting late. I didn't take many pictures on Halloween night because I was too busy trying to keep myself dry. This was the first Halloween in a very long time where the weather wasn't perfect. But the rain didn't slow the kids down. Not one bit. We hit up at least 4 or 5 neighborhoods. We trick-or-treated for almost 3 hours. My feet were aching by the time I got home. And my clothes were nice and damp. Darrius dressed up as a psychotic clown this year. I think he did this to scare me. I made the big mistake of telling him that I'm afraid of clowns. So this was his way of having a little fun with me. I didn't dress up this year. I couldn't think of anything for a costume and I just didn't feel like it. Maybe next year. Despite the rain and humidity and a run-in with some teenagers who knew they had no business trick-or-treating, we had a great time.

Happy Halloween!
Darrius is looking forward to some trick-or-treating tonight. This year he's going as a psychotic clown. I made the mistake of telling him that I'm afraid of clowns. I think he chose that costume to try and scare me. We'll see about that. Hmph! I've decided to not dress up this year. I don't feel like putting forth the effort. I know; I'm a Halloween Scrooge. It has been cool, cloudy and drizzling all day. I hope the rain stops and the temps rise in time for tonight's festivities.
I will post pictures and a recap tomorrow.
Trick-or-Treat!
