Windy, Rainy and Cold - Saturday Soccer

Saturday was NOT good soccer weather. The game was scheduled for noon. During the morning it was cloudy and in the 60s. As it got closer to game time, the weather decided to flip the script. The temperature dropped, the wind kicked up and the rain came in.

This is what it looked like when we arrived at the field.

It was left up to the discretion of the ref to decided whether or not to cancel the game. The ref decided to let the kids play even though it was windy and raining sidways. I guess he figured that as long as there was no thundering or lightening, the boys would be okay. The parents were not that understanding or happy.

I wasn't able to see any of the action on the opposite side of the field because my view was blocked by my umbrella, hood and baseball cap.

Even though the weather was not cooperative, the boys played really well. There were a couple of slips due to the wet grass.

Darrius managed to keep himself upright during the game. The Green Eagles won 1-0 despite the poor weather condition. The boys and parents were soaked by the end of the game.
