Christmas Day

We had a great Christmas. The weather was nice. It was sunny and in the 40s. Darrius managed to sleep in until 7:3oam. I told him we have to wait until 8am to open the presents. He patiently waited, which was suprising. Darrius had a great Christmas because Santa brought everything he asked for. His favorite present was the game Rock Band. He got the entire set - guitar, drums and microphone. Alfred managed to surprised me this Christmas. After much fussing and complaining, he bought me a new laptop. Yay! My old laptop's at least years old and it is slow as mud and likes to get attacked by viruses. I was not expecting a new laptop. I also received another shocker...a new cellphone...the Blackberry Storm, no less! I was shocked. I'd mentioned in passing how if I'd known that phone was going to be coming out, I wouldn't have upgraded over the summer. I wasn't hinting for a new phone cause I knew we'd have to pay full price for it. What I really wanted for Christmas was the iPod Touch. But no complaints from me. My birthday is in a couple of months so maybe I'll get a new iPod then. :-) My hubby is so generous!

After opening presents, we headed to my parents house for Christmas Brunch. The food was delicious as always. After brunch we opened presents. My dad played Santa Claus.

After we finished opening gifts, we decided to play Rock Band. Darrius brought the guitar and the microphone to my parents house. It was TONS of fun. My favorite song on the game is Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi. It's the only song that I know. :-) So we spent a couple of hours playing the Wii (we moved onto Wii Sports after we exhausted every song in the Rock Band playlist).

Here's a clip of Ricky and Julianna singing "Roxanne" by The Police. Darrius is on guitar. The sound quality may not be that great. Poor Adrian was crying in the background. I didn't think the singing was that bad! LOL!

We spent most of the day at my parents house even though we were supposed to leave around 4pm to go to Alfred's aunt's house. We didn't get there until 8pm and mostly everyone had left. Oh well. I hope Christmas doesn't come around so quickly next year. I really wasn't prepared this year but managed to pull it off somehow.

All in all, it was a great day. Any time spent with family is always a great day.
